  Bookkeeping Qualifications

Under the new regulatory regime for the registration of BAS agents Tax Agent Services Act 2009, which will commence on 1 March 2010, bookkeepers must be registered in order to provide BAS agent services for a fee or to "engage in other conduct connected with providing such services."

However in order to register, a bookkeeper must hold a Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping), or higher, and have undertaken at least 1,400 hours of relevant experience in the past 3 years.

As part of Uniting Bookkeepers commitment to Educating, Supporting and Networking bookkeepers, we have created a commercial agreement with TAFE NSW (Hunter Institute) to provide to our members the accredited qualification of the Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping).
