Are you aware of this:
Tax Agents that sign tax documentation prepared by unregulated bookkeepers may face fines up to $27,500 under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009
Tax Agents who sign any tax document prepared by an unregistered bookkeeper may be liable for a Civil Penalty of up to $27,500 for an individual. Tax Agents that work with unregistered bookkeepers are obliged to demonstrate that this person is working under their control or supervision. The professional burden of working with unregistered bookkeepers will be onerous
therefore Tax Agents are advised to check the registration status of bookkeeping professionals.
Accountants will be asked is it worth the risk of working with unregistered bookkeepers?
Registration as a BAS Agent is recommended, or if you do not want to, then perhaps find employment within another bookkeeping practice.
