Helping practitioners resolve issues with the ATO and TPB

On 1 May 2015 the Commonwealth Ombudsman’s tax complaint handling function was transferred to the Inspector-General of Taxation (IGT) to provide a more specialised and focused complaints handling of tax matters. Since that time, we have helped close to 2,000 tax practitioners and taxpayers in the fair resolution of their complaints with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) or the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).
